Elsa Turns 100!

Can you imagine the things Elsa has witnessed and lived through in 100 years? She was born in Pisa, Italy in 1921, when Mussolini was rising to power in office and Coco Chanel introduced "Chanel No.5". When she was 18, she found herself in the middle of World War II. She fled the city of Pisa to head to the countryside to avoid the bombing. Sadly, the house she was in was bombed and her cousin didn't survive.

Elsa's birthday wish was to be 21 again, but since that was a wish only in her dreams, she instead found a way to give rather than receive. Party guests were asked to bring an unwrapped gift to place under the Christmas tree for the Toys for Tots program. Patrick Joynt and his daughter represented the Marion County Toys for Tots and presented the birthday girl with several gifts then hauled away the toys like Santa himself. Toys for Tots is still in desperate need of donations this holiday season. Please consider donating if you're able to help the cause or if you or someone you know could benefit from this wonderful program. That's not all though, she was featured on TV20 news during her party too. Click here if you'd like to watch her news debut. I personally think the best gift of all to her was being surrounded by the wonderful people that love her most in this world. What a truly joyful celebration!

Happy 100th Birthday Elsa!!!

“I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” - Acts 20:35
