Ladies, this one's for you!!! If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm an up and coming wedding and engagement photographer in Gainesville, FL and surrounding areas in Alachua County. I do family portraits as well, but I've worked hard and put in many hours on the art of capturing couples in love and their big day.
If you follow me on social media you may have noticed, I LOVE capturing rings at engagement sessions and on the wedding day. I think it's safe to say they're kinda' my jam. To nail these shots, I use a Canon 100mm Macro lens. I know most of you have no idea what that means, but all you need to know is that it allows me to get really really close to the ring to show off every detail and sparkle and caked on gunk if you haven't cleaned your ring.
It's rare, but I have seen some brides forget to clean their ring or just not even know how important it is. I highly recommend the day before or day of your engagement session and wedding day cleaning your rings. Your best bet is to take it to the professionals, typically the store you purchased it at cleans your ring complimentary. If you don't have time, I'm certain you can find several diy methods on Pinterest to get the job done with simple ingredients you already have laying around the house. Just make sure whatever you're using on your ring is appropriate for the stone and metal on your particular ring.
Below are some of my favorite ring images I've captured. Enjoy!!!
