Basara Family | St. Augustine Beach, FL


It had been several years since I last had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family. Life took them up north for a while, but eventually the pull of Florida sunshine proved stronger than the snow. They made their way back, trading winter coats for bare feet and choosing to raise their girls surrounded by salt air and tropical warmth.

True to Florida form, the weather showed off for us, giving us a beautiful, warm sunset session on St. Augustine Beach. The girls could barely contain their excitement. The moment their toes hit the sand, they were off, laughing, running, and eagerly searching for seashells along the shore.


We managed to sneak in a few posed family portraits, but the real magic happened in between. I spent most of the session following their lead, capturing them exactly as they are, playful, curious, and completely in their element. Those in between moments, full of movement and genuine joy, are always my favorite.
