There is something incredibly special about a love story that comes full circle. Lakshay and Ruth’s story began as University of Florida students, working side by side at the Starbucks inside Library West. Between early shifts, coffee orders, and conversations that lingered just a little longer than necessary, something meaningful took root. What started as friendship quietly grew into something much deeper.
When it came time for Lakshay to ask Ruth to spend forever with him, he knew exactly where their story needed to return. On a beautiful spring morning, in front of Smathers Library, Lakshay got down on one knee. The setting could not have been more perfect. The University of Florida campus in the spring is something truly special. The historic architecture, the perfectly manicured grounds, and the soft blooms of the season created a backdrop that felt both timeless and full of life. The moment itself was intimate and thoughtful, but Ruth’s reaction was the best part. Before you even saw the ring, you could hear it. The kind of joyful, overwhelmed emotion that turns into happy tears and laughter all at once. It carried across the courtyard in the sweetest way. And of course, she said yes.
Afterward, we made our way to Library West, back to the Starbucks where it all began. There is something so meaningful about revisiting the ordinary places that quietly shape our lives. What once was part of their daily routine is now part of their forever story.
To finish, we took advantage of the stunning azaleas in full bloom around campus. Soft pinks, fresh greens, and that unmistakable spring light created the perfect setting to celebrate this new chapter. Every frame felt natural, joyful, and full of life.
